How to turn old rice country back to productive dryland grazing?

Hi, we have tracts of country that has been used in the past for growing rice. We would like to pull down the old contour bays and use this country for livestock. Has anyone done this successfully?

Hi Al,

Some responses from our social media community:

Laura Kaylock: The Western Murray Land Improvement Group have been investigating this for the last few years with some encouraging results using perennial shrubs & grasses, annual grasses, and hard seeded or perennial legumes. https://www.westernmurraylig.org/economically-viable-options-for-retired-irrigation-land-evoril.html
