Hi, I've been asked to help out some neighbours with harvest, but have never contracted out my machine before so looking for some insights into how much to charge? Does it depend on your width or header type? Do you usually charge/be charged by hectare, or rotary hour, or something different?
Appreciate any input. Tim
By the acre/hectare covers all sizes/speeds and efficiency of different machines in a standard crop. A tonnage bonus may be applicable if a very heavy crop slows you down. Similarly an hourly rate in down crops that slow you down. Ring a couple of reputable contractors to get an idea of rates in all situations.
