Filling a cone based silo through the side opening?
We have a cone based silo,30tonnes. Planing to put 12 tonnes of Barley in anotherwise empty silo. There are two openings on the top. In the centre and on the edge. Can we fill on the edge/side opening?

Hi,
There shouldn't be any reason why you can't, we used to do it all the time before we got a bigger auger that could reach to the top. The side opening is usually used for access to get into the silo to clean it out.
